learn about our story
Salesian College Farnborough has worked with our Salesian partners in Zambia for nearly 20 years. In 2004, the College worked with Mrs Mweete, a former Headteacher and active lay parishioner, to establish the Porridge Club at Assumption Parish in Mazabuka. Fast forward to 2006 and, following a pilgrimage to Lourdes, the name was changed to ‘Share the Light’ (that year’s HCPT motto). Salesian College trips to Zambia commenced in 2012 with the aim to develop parish links and support the local community and, in 2014, Salesian Sarria Barcelona joined the effort and have contributed tremendously ever since. In recent times, we have rebranded to get closer to our Salesian identity; our new name, SHARE is an acronym for ‘Salesian Hearts Advocating the Relief of Poverty and Education’. We hope that, with your hope, this next chapter will be our most successful yet!

Our Identity

who we are
SHARE is a charity developed in the spirit of Saint John Bosco and with the Salesian traditional values in mind. Don Bosco’s devotion to the young and vulnerable acts as a guiding pillar for us as we build bridges that overcome all divides to provide a voice for the voiceless. We believe that, through a focus on young people, we can develop a generation who will embody the values of the Good Shepherd and contribute accordingly to their community moving forward. SHARE’s focus is aligned to the four key areas of the work of the Salesian order : Home, School, Church and Playground. Our initiatives focus on providing a secure home, accessible education, environments for spirituality to thrive and safe areas to relax and play.
