Building Schools
Place to Learn
The Don Bosco Day Primary and Secondary School in Luwingu is working to construct a much-needed classroom block to provide vital learning space for its growing number of pupils. This capital project is close to our hearts as it aligns so closely with the charity’s objectives: to educate young people, within a Salesian school, to improve their opportunities in life. The school has over a thousand pupils on roll divided into 19 classes, but with only 13 classrooms available most of these students are not able to attend for a full school day, instead taking their education in shifts. Designed as a two-storey structure, the building will enhance educational opportunities and create an environment where pupils can thrive academically. This ambitious project is a collaborative effort, with funding and support coming from school parents, the local congregation, and SHARE. The build is going brilliantly but has to stop whenever funding and materials run out so we are committed to fundraising to keep it progressing. By coming together as a community, the goal is to give these pupils the space they need to learn, grow, and build brighter futures.
